Eldon Mellaney believes that a successful consulting engagement requires three things – engagement, collaboration and delivery.
Over the last 15 years, he has worked exclusively as a technology consultant helping clients develop data and analytics solutions as well as operational systems.
Platforms and technologies employed have included:
- Data architecture – Quest ERwin, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect/Information Governance Catalog and Oracle SQL*Developer Data Modeler
- Data integration – IBM DataStage and Pentaho Data Integration
- Cloud and on-prem data analytic tool chains – Cognos Analytics, Microsoft PowerBI (Azure), Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT), Tableau and Oracle
- Cloud and on-prem databases – Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server and mySQL
- Middleware – IBM WebSphere, Oracle Application Server (Forms, Reports) and JBoss
- Operating environments – LINUX, including zLINUX, UNIX, and Windows Server
- Other technologies including virtualization, Citrix, VMWare and MacOS have also been used extensively.
Eldon has worked as a data modeler, database administrator, and systems developer, choosing to specialise in Oracle Database.
He enjoys sharing his findings with his clients in order that they may become better technology developers.
Eldon holds degrees in Computer Science and has worked for both public sector (Industry Canada) and private sector employers, having started or assisted in the start-up of several Ottawa technology companies.
